Accommodation options vary in each destination.  Some destinations have a range of options, from the very-cheap to the very-luxurious, and some destinations have only a couple of different options.  Please visit our destinations page for an indication of what is available in each location.  The descriptions below are generalization, however accommodations can be provided to suit all tastes.  Please contact us - or fill out a Trip Request Form - and we will provide you with options for your custom trip.

High-Class Resorts

Many destinations offer high-class resorts equipped with all the amenities you could possibly want: Swimming pools, tennis courts, beach front rooms, spas, high-class restaurants, room-service, kid's clubs, and much more are available at these resorts.  Common destinations to find a variety of high-class accommodation are Cozumel , Cancun , and Playa del Carmen.  Other destinations may have one or two high-quality resorts.  Cost is typically $80 or more per night.

Mid-Range Hotels

Mid-range hotels are available in a number of destinations. These hotels have air conditioning, often a swimming pool and restaurant, and can be on or near the beach.  Rooms are comfortable and secure. Mid-range accommodations can be arranged in most locations. Cost is typically $60-80 per night.

Low-Range Hotels

Almost any destination will offer low-range hotels.  These are usually in the $40-$60 per night range and may or may not include air conditioning.  Low-range hotels do not typically have any amenities and tend to be located closer to the city center and further from the beach than other, more expensive options. 

Budget Accommodation

Budget accommodation is usually between $15 and $40 per night.  Budget rooms do not usually have air conditioning, are located in the city center or further from attractions such as beaches.  These simple rooms have a bed (or 2 beds) and bathroom – occasionally the bathroom is not located in the room.  See Specialty Accommodations below for additional budget options.

Specialty Accommodation

Specialty accommodation is a special category for some of the unique options you have in the Yucatan .  The price range is quite broad (from $15 to $200 per night) depending on the specific hotel.  Some examples of specialty accommodation are:

• Palapas on the beach – includes a sand floor, candle light at night, incredible proximity to the beach, and a hook to hang your hammock.
• Spas or Yoga retreat centers – for individuals interested in meditation, yoga, and massage therapy, this type of accommodation allows you to relax
• Cultural accommodations – located just outside of popular Mayan Ruin sites – amenities include cultural experiences such as traditional dance performances
• Live-aboard dive boat
• Apartments or houses – rentals are usually for a week or more
